| Humanity Initiative has included
link to Hajde da web site |
THE HUMANITY
INITIATIVE E-MAIL
Dear Grupa Hajde Da, The Humanity Initiative would like to congratulate
your organization on receiving an honorable mention in Humanity's
first annual activist site of the year awards. As part of our
mission - "encouraging people to understand this planet as our
common home" - we spent countless hours researching activist
websites to find those which are the most organized, accessible,
internationally minded, and passionate. In addition to your
site we have selected 49 other sites that best met that criteria.
After making our selections we created an activist section on
our website, which includes links to all the organizations selected
in our search, as well as a description of each organization
and its activist opportunities.
Please see the link to your site at http://www.humanity.org/imagine/activism/social/
Through this section we hope to generate more traffic to your
site and also increase the number of people reaching out to
help our world. In the spirit of this goal we invite you to
consider including a link to our site on your webpage's Links
section and/or cross pollinating ideas and campaigns. We hope
that through small actions like these we can collectively converse
with the world to create and inspire positive social change.
We greatly appreciate the work you and your colleagues have
done at Grupa Hajde Da.
Best,
Caitlin Horrigan Intern The Humanity Initiative http://www.humanity.org/

| TRAINING FOR PSYCHO SOCIAL WORK
4 |
As an integral part of “Capacity Building
Program 2002/2003”, “Hajde da…” Group realized FOURTH Training
for Psycho Social Work.
Participants were activists and volunteers of Serbia and Montenegro
NGOs, engaged in work with children and youth. Trainers team
was consisted of Jelena Jovanovic, Jelena Rankovic and Darko
Markovic. Training was conducted in good atmosphere, but there
was also a lot of hard work. Various aspects of psycho-social
engagement and NGO practice were analyzed. Those topics were
very relevant for participants.
One of the emphasized subjects was use of new methods, theories
and techniques in everyday work. Number of people who had applied
to participate in this training exceeded our expectations. It’s
obvious that there is great need for this kind of education
in our society.
Realization of “Capacity Building Program 2002/2003” was financially

| LET’S LEARN TOGETHER...
|
|
“Hajde da…” Group has established continuing
and successful cooperation with Roma Community Center “8.
April” in Mali Mokri Lug. People at the Center try to
promote education as an important aspect of development. Consequently,
various educational programs and extra classes related with
school curriculum are offered to children among other activities
of the Center. During time, teachers who work with children
at the Center felt need to learn more about informal education
techniques. As a result, short seminar of informal education
was created for them by “Hajde da…” Group.
At the same time, during April and May 2003, drama workshops
– as an example of informal education - were organized
for children. These workshops were conducted by members of
two art troupes – ‘Dah teatar’ and ‘ERGstatus
dancing theatre’. Members of our organization and two
young Roma girls from the Center were assisting the process
of workshop conducting.
Participants were exploring possibilities of finding the way
from differences to cooperation. Younger group participants
(children age 6 – 10) were analyzing various plants
and animals as composing elements of harmonious world. Older
group participants (youth age 11 – 16) discussed relations
of four basic elements (fire, water, earth and air).
At occasion of celebration of St. George Day participants
presented results of the workshops in a form of a play. This
presentation was attended by many children of non Romany population.
This was convenient opportunity for Roma children to demonstrate
their abilities and talents and to have fun with other children
of the same age.
We would like to thank people at Roma Center “8. April”
for their help during realization of this project. We would
also like to thank ‘Norwegian People’s Aid’
for financial support.
